We hope you will find Boer goats as interesting as we do.
In 1997 our daughter decided she wanted a goat. We ended up buying her 1 goat. What kind, we have no idea.
A few years later we inherited 2 goats. After all 3 of the goats had gone for various reasons, the field was empty.
Our girls kept on about getting baby goats.
So we got 2 does and 2 wethers.
Those 4 goats went to the Augusta County Fair, for our girls to show. Even though we didn't know much about goats at the time and nothing about showing them we had lots of fun. The girls did very well in the classes they showed in. From that time on we were hooked.
We then learned about registered Boer goats. We purchase several breed does, younger does and a full blood buck. We couldn't wait for the new kids to arrive. The experience, when they did arrive was good for us and our children.
Our girls love the shows. From the small county fairs we have and will continue to travel to the ABGA shows. They are fun for the whole family. You meet lots of new people and get lots of good advice from other people in the goat business.
Last year we became interested in the polka dot / spotted Boer goats.
We decided we wanted to be unique and different with our goats.
That made polka dots perfect for us!!
After a lot of searching we purchased our Future Herd SireSharp Shewter on April 1 st , 2007.
Check out our polka dot / spotted Boer goatspage!
We have recently added a full blood polka dot doe to our herd.
